Off Piste 32-52L Ski Touring Pack - Custom
Description:
Designed over years of dreaming and testing packs on the market the Off Piste is our first ski touring pack. We wanted to create a pack that could be used all season from daily touring to overnight hut trips, to alpine missions in the spring. Following our classic design philosophy, the Off Piste is as simple as possible without omitting the features needed to take you and your gear high and far.
The pack is a roll top design with a zipper pocket on top for a radio or tools. The production version of the pack will have a vertical zipper down the right side panel of the pack to allow access to the pack while it is still rolled. There is a CSM (formerly Hypalon) ice axe/tool cover on the center of the pack where the current San Util tag is.
If you want to hard carry a board, make sure to purchase our additional strap.
We are working on developing our own helmet net. In the meantime, any net that has g-hook connections will work with this pack (attaching to the vertical daisy chains).
Picking Fabrics:
Like all things in life there are pros and cons of each fabric. When choosing fabrics, think about your daily use and pick accordingly. We are trying to expand our Cordura line as we get further into 2024, but the EPX and ULTRA lines will stay the same.

I can’t lie. I haven’t owned many backcountry ski packs, but there are MANY pluses to this bag design that doesn’t compare to others.
First — the straps. I usually deal with collar bone pressure points especially with the bibs I wear — always making me want to readjust, tighten as much as possible but with these straps being less bulky & also 3 inches instead of the standard 2 inches makes them the comfiest I’ve ever worn.
Second — the side zip = LIFE. I didn’t think I’d like it as much (maybe too small of an entrance) but it works perfectly. I used to have a pack with the back entrance but started having zipper issues due to stuffing my pack with all the essentials. The side zip so far works flawlessly, doesn’t snag like my old pack and again is the perfect size to get to my snacks, water, and other items.
Third — top pocket access is clutch. When out ski guiding I like having easy access to sunscreen, my observation/avy book along with my scraper in case of skis icing up etc.
Forth — the roll top. I haven’t personally stuffed it to its max but will be soon, however it works well to compact it down for a day tour but stoked to see how much I can really squeeze in there.
Lastly, the straps for putting on skis to hike work just like the others and is essential for any mountaineering adventure you want to go on. Hyped to see how this pack holds up + a huge shout out to the Sanutil crew for making my orange dreams come true!
This pack is absolutely bomber and competes with any other lightweight ski pack on the market. The expandable roll top and side access make this pack super versatile from inbounds hike-to's to overnighters and big lines. Top it off with fun color options and supporting a rad local business and you have what I would consider the best ski pack on the market.
Could not be more stoked on the performance of the pack. Just spent the past few days on monarch pass really putting it to use. The pack performed great you can tell that it was made with quality and performance in mind by individuals who pursue outdoor adventure. I love how simple but effective the pack is. My favorite part is the side zipper that gives easy access to the main compartment, I prefer this style much more than a U or J style access zipper. Being able to over stuff and pack the bag is also so nice, my avi gear helmet and extra layer easily fits in the bag and has enough space for double the gear.

I think the defining feature is how well thought out the whole thing is. Specifically designed for backcountry skiing, it has all the features right where you need them, and nothing else. It's light, comfortable, easy to access, and extremely well built. Very Impressive.

Overstuffable
The Off Piste is a roll top overstuffable design so that you can carry what you need, when you need it but still have the organization when the pack is empty.
Avy Tool Pocket
The avy tool pocket has 3 dividers inside for your probe, shovel handle, and saw. All the tools will be easily accessible when you need them no matter how stuffed the bag is.
Water resistance
All of our fabrics are water proof with the exception of waxed canvas. Because our bags are sewn, non of them are fully waterproof (albeit very very water resistant).
