DESCRIPTION
Frame bags are one of the more popular bags we make here at San Util. Frame bags are roughly 2.5" wide and will fit your frame perfect through our process for building templates. The standard option comes with a right zip to enter the main compartment and a left zip to access the "map" pocket (a flat pocket on the non-drive side of the bike). We use Vislon #10 zippers for all full frame bags.
There are pros and cons to all the attachment styles. Read below for our thoughts on frame bag attachment. Personally, I am a huge fan of lace ups for the looks and ease of use once the bag is on.
Velcro -
Pros: Easy to put on and take off. Versatile (may fit different bikes if you have slightly different frame shapes). Replaceable velcro when it wears out.
Cons: Does not look the cleanest. Velcro wears out the quickest.
Lace -
Pros: Looks amazing. Is the most secure. Disperses weight evenly across the zipper. .
Cons: Takes a long time to put on and take off. More points for abrasion.
Bolt On -
Pros: Looks incredibly clean.
Cons: Hard to put on. Doesn't hold the bag as secure as velcro or lace. Expensive.

Really happy with my frame bag. This went on my hardtail and love the storage. It is pretty amazing that with a simple photo of your bike, they can make the back fit absolutely perfect in the frame. Very impressed and I look forward using it on the AZT next month.
Ordered a bag for my Kona Unit. Adam got the sizing perfect on it. The sewing looks great and the material feels pretty bomber with beefy zippers. I've been thrashing around muddy trails this fall with it, so far so good!

This pack is perfect...I requested a vertical divider to keep tools and my camelback quick stow bladder separate, and that turned out perfect. The fabric choices were great, and the build quality is just stellar. This looks to hold up for years to come and I'm super pleased....Thanks Adam! This bag is helping me drag my life across China right now and the canvas is shedding water better than my (allegedly) waterproof backpack. An absolute beast of a frame bag. Beautiful craftsmanship to boot.
My frame bag is a lace up on the top tube and bolted on the downs on a large Surly Krampus frame and I couldn't be more pleased with fit and functionality. This version of the custom bag is even better than the earlier one that I had! I have matching mini-panniers and with this frame bag I can go from biking my kid and all his gear to soccer and cub scouts to an overnight bike trip without having to change a single thing. Above all, I can speak to how great San Util's customer service is all the way around!!
The frame bag is very high quality and fit perfectly and arrived on time. Adam was excellent to work with and the customer support went beyond expectations. I'll be getting all my future bike bags from San Util.
I can't say enough good things about this bag. I got a custom full frame bag for my Santa Cruz Highball. The blue and black perfectly matches the color scheme and even the orange tassles match the bike's accents. The bag perfectly fits the frame, which we did remotely. I sent in a photo and the bag fits perfectly. I have a daisy chain on top and the frame locks into the water bottle holders inside the frame.
I use this setup as my main bikepacking bike. I can fit tons in the frame now. Absolutely worth the price, plus it's made right here in Colorado!
I had a difficult custom frame bag made and he couldn't have nailed it any better. it fit perfectly first try and was flawless for my entire 12 days on the Colorado trail and the months of daily use prior to the trip. I at times over stuffed(don't reccomend) and the zippers were still functional and everything was so stable within the bag it's self. Not to mention it looks sweet AF.
Adam did a fantastic job on the custom frame bag and was a pleasure to deal with. The best thing I can say about a piece of gear is I didn't have to think about it because it worked like expected and allowed me to do my thing!
Absolutely nailed the fit on this custom frame back. I put it on a full sus bike and it really fits like a glove between the frame and rear sus and I haven't had any zipper issues. Really like the layout and functionality as well.
I just finished my first bike packing trip using this bag. It worked fantastic! Things I love about it; filling the whole space of the frame perfectly (even received a compliment from a stranger about how perfect it fit), the beefy zippers were very nice, I got the bungy cord frame attachment, and it kept everything nice and tight. Things I don't like.... honestly, I can't think of one. Highly recommended and will likely buy another for one of my other bikes.

This bag went with me on the San Juan Hut trip in September and held up to everything! It was easy to get on and off the bike, and it fit perfectly. It is streamlined and sturdy, and I got way more in it than I thought it would. Love this bag for long bike packing adventures or holding supplies for coaching.

I ordered a custom bag for my dual-suspension bike and the bag fit PERFECTLY. My geometry wasn't the easiest to work around but Adam and his team nailed it. I used it for a 2 week trip on the Colorado Trail and had no issues what-so-ever. Plus I love being able to customize the fabric and colors!
